The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not 'Eureka!' but 'That's funny...' ~Isaac Asimov

Terry Reagan and his story...Hi, my name is Terry Reagan. I am one of the lucky ones who knew
early on what it was I wanted to do with my life. As a sophomore in high school I knew I wanted to teach.
What attracted me was the relationships teachers make with their students and the impact they have on their students’ lives. There are two teachers who come to mind immediately, I am sure this is true for everyone. We remember our teachers! It is an enormous responsibility for this reason alone!
From that eager beginning to now, I have had a most rewarding and fulfilling thirty-eight year career.
I have taught the entire span of the education spectrum: elementary school, middle school, high school, undergraduate and graduate schools. I am currently an instructor and advisor at the Program in Science Learning here at Rutgers University.
Throughout my career I was struck by the need of a constant source of support and resources for the teacher. This constant source was many times not available to me and my colleagues and remains difficult for school districts to
provide to this day. Thus, the creation of the Institute of Instructional Development. It is my hope that teachers, from pre-service to the most experienced, will find the Institute a place of resource and support that not only is
available to them constantly but is designed with their needs in mind.
Welcome!! Browse around, hopefully you will find what you need. If you don’t, be sure to let us know.
